This work uses two sets of stripes to guide the viewer’s attention: one red and one yellow, visible from a distance. Each is drawn in perspective, representing two intersecting planes receding away from the surface of the glass. Unlike traditional painting, my work has no fixed vantage point. As pedestrians pass by the shelter, they can observe the space created by the stripes expand and contract, as the two planes appear to shift. My work is an opportunity to learn how our elusive pictorial techniques alter how we perceive our world.
